‘EBT Double Dollar Day’ at area farmers markets Saturday

Keauhou Farmers Market and Hawi Farmers Market will offer an EBT Double Dollar Day on Saturday.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients who use EBT booths at these markets will receive food bucks or a receipt for double the amount of their original purchase, up to $20. “Double dollars” may only be used at the farmers market where they are issued. EBT recipients are encouraged to shop at participating markets early on market days, as each market will have a limited amount of “double dollars” to distribute.

EBT Double Dollar Day is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, The Kohala Center, the Ulupono Initiative and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farmers Market Promotion Program.

For more information, call The Kohala Center at 887-6411, visit kohalacenter.org/ebt or inquire at participating markets.
